Our client is a renowned global design practice with a dedicated team of 250 people. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support Leadership and the New Business team in evaluating new opportunities
- Review briefs and tender documents
- Collect key information for the preparation of the proposal
- Propose commercial strategy to respond to new opportunities and RfPs.
- Prepare commercial data and project financials
- Prepare proposals, including mobilisation plans, financial assumptions, and letters/bid submissions • Work with wider studio in all aspects of project set up analysis: scope, programme, team composition, etc.
- Negotiate fees for new projects, using general research and project budgets to inform fee levels and the fee negotiation process.
- Assist with contractual disputes and potential claims and liaise with external professional advisers (legal, insurance, accountant, etc.)
- Review and negotiate design contracts discuss contract issues internally and use judgement to recommend the correct resolution of issues.
- Assist wider studio to deliver projects by providing regular updates, and summaries of the key obligations under the contract on all potential and current projects.
- Input into studio risk register; insurance terms etc
Candidates will need the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in managing complex international design projects, particularly in architecture.
- Strong understanding of legal conditions pertaining to creative design studios.
- Ability to navigate both high-level strategy and detailed information to formulate effective commercial responses.
- Expertise in preparing and amending various commercial and legal documents, including design agreements and fee proposals.
- Significant experience in negotiating contracts in the UK and internationally, with a focus on markets such as the US, Europe, Hong Kong, China, and Singapore.
- Proficiency in working with professional advisors, including accountants and legal counsel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be key to building strong relationships and navigating high-pressure negotiations.
