We are looking for a Practice Manager to join an award-winning studio on a 9-12 month fixed-term maternity cover contract (with the possibility of becoming permanent). The role is integral to ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the studio, focusing on HR, finance, operations and promoting a positive office culture. The Practice Manager will lead and support the studio's operations, maintain strong working relationships across the team, and uphold a collaborative and creative work environment. You will work closely with the Directors and Senior Team to ensure effective management across HR, finance, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

HR Management

  • Oversee all HR functions, including staff welfare and maintaining a supportive work environment.
  • Manage the recruitment processes, job descriptions, adverts, send offers, and coordinate the onboarding of new staff.
  • Coordinate annual and interim performance reviews and benchmark salaries by industry standards.

Financial Management

  • Manage all financial processes, including cash flow, billing, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor budgets, expenditures, and profitability through monthly reviews and reporting to the Directors.
  • Monitor bank accounts, and make payments.
  • Work with accountants to prepare quarterly management reports, yearly final accounts and R&D claims.

Studio Operations

  • Provide leadership to the studio team and manage the day-to-day office functions.
  • Organise insurance renewals and provide necessary documentation for new business opportunities.
  • Communicate key operational updates to the team in regular studio meetings or via emails.
  • Maintain the ISO 9001 system

Experience, knowledge and skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management role within a creative business
  • Proven experience in financial management, HR and operations
  • Knowledge of using CMAP and XERO software is desirable
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with the internal team and external collaborators
  • Willingness to undertake other tasks and learn new skills to improve office management
