Our client is a large, sociable, friendly, award-winning multi-disciplinary practice based in SW London, currently  looking for a BIM Coordinator to join their team.

They work across a range of sectors, including hospitality, commercial and masterplanning, and specialise in residentially-led mixed-use schemes. They also have many years of experience both in the refurbishment of listed buildings and the implementation of new build developments on redundant or brownfield sites.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and expertise:

  • Qualified as an Architect or an Architectural Technician/Technologist
  • A minimum of 3 years UK professional work experience as a BIM Coordinator
  • Experience working on large residential projects. Delivering using the BIM process and Revit across all RIBA work stages and especially from Stage 3 onwards
  • Sound technical understanding of UK construction processes, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Experience with project BIM deliverables (ISO19650)
  • Experience with multidiscipline building information modelling (BIM) coordination, clash detection/avoidance, data audits and reporting.  
  • Experience of Common Data Environments (CDE)
  • Experience with NBS specifications (NBS Chorus)
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Proficient in document and report writing
  • Proficient internal presenter

Technical / software experience:

  • Autodesk Revit – Advanced (minimum 5 years)
  • Navisworks – Advanced
  • BIMCollab – Experienced
  • AutoCAD – Experienced
  • Dynamo – Good Knowledge
  • Rhino – Good Knowledge
  • Rhino Inside Revit – Preferable
  • Grasshopper - Preferable
  • Solibri – Preferable
  • Vectorworks – Desirable
  • PowerBi - Desirable

R+D:

  • Programming languages (RevitAPI -Python/C#) – Desirable

Job description responsibilities: Project, Practice & Strategic:

Production responsibilities:
All projects

  • Project and model set-up, volume and modelling strategy
  • Assist project team with best modelling and information production standards and procedures
  • Support team use Building Information Models (BIM) for review and coordination
  • Support team with Revit and modelling queries.
  • Produce project-specific content and contribute to practice library
     

Projects with Client Information Requirements:

  • Understanding of AIR / EIR / BEP / MIDP / TIDP / MPDT / High-level responsibility matrix
  • Maintain the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
  • Understand Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows
  • Production of structured data from design intent models (COBie / Ifc)
  • Understanding of Uniclass2015 classification system and NBS Chrous specification for project deliverables
  • Audit models for best practice and compliance with project standards methods and procedures
  • Host BIM coordination meetings, run clashes avoidance and detection, produce coordination reports

Practice responsibilities:

  • Promote compliance with technical standards across practice
  • Support the development of workflow for information production

  • Project team training
  • Represent the practice at BIM meetings and events
  • Review and approve information/models for sharing

Strategic responsibilities:

  • Research and development of new design tools and technology to increase productivity
